Manado is the capital city of North Sulawesi Province in Indonesia. Located by the Bay of Manado, the city is nestled among the mountains. The largest city in the region, Manado is also the main transit point for travellers and the Sam Ratulangi International Airport acts as one of the main ports of entry to Indonesia.

The Mount Mahawu which is located east from Lokon-Empung Volcano is 180m wide and 140m deep with two pyroclastic cones on the northern side.
Another attraction is the Bunaken National Marine Park that boasts of the highest amount of sea life and biodiversity world-wide. Established in 1991, it is one of the finest marine parks in Indonesia and has a crystal clear water body full of tropical water.
